I am a collector of words

Words feed me, free me, comfort, uplift and heal me. I've been saving my favorites in books, handwritten over the years and thought that perhaps in sharing them, not only am I preserving them for myself, but perhaps others may also find healing in them as I have.

At the end of the talk someone from the audience
asked the Dalai Lama, "Why didn't you fight back against
the Chinese?" The Dalai Lama looked down, swung his feet
just a bit, then looked back up at us and said with a gentle smile, "Well, war is obsolete, you know " Then, after a few moments,
his face grave, he said, "Of course the mind can rationalize
fighting back...but the heart, the heart would never understand.
Then you would be divided in yourself, the heart and the mind,
and the war would be inside you."

Keep your Mouth Shut

“Sometimes one creates a dynamic impression by saying something, and sometimes one creates as significant an impression by remaining silent.” Dalai Lama

Religion

"My true religion, my simple faith is in love and compassion. There is no need for complicated philosophy, doctrine, or dogma. Our own heart, our own mind, is the temple. The doctrine is compassion. Love for others and respect for their rights and dignity, no matter who or what they are - these are ultimately all we need."~ the Dalai Lama

Lost?

"People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they're not on your road doesn't mean they've gotten lost"- Dalai Lama
