I am a collector of words

Words feed me, free me, comfort, uplift and heal me. I've been saving my favorites in books, handwritten over the years and thought that perhaps in sharing them, not only am I preserving them for myself, but perhaps others may also find healing in them as I have.

Suffering

"People who are sent on to the dark ground of suffering know how all the normal certainties collapse.  Painstakingly you have to begin again to reconstruct some minimal shelter for your burdened heart and your cleft soul.  Pain breaks your innocence.   It shatters your trust in the world you know.    All the old knowing of the conscious mind becomes redundant."   John O' Donahue
