I am a collector of words

Words feed me, free me, comfort, uplift and heal me. I've been saving my favorites in books, handwritten over the years and thought that perhaps in sharing them, not only am I preserving them for myself, but perhaps others may also find healing in them as I have.

Freedom

Dear Friends,
Philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre said:
"Freedom is what you do with what's been done to you".
In other words: freedom consists in finding the point of power, which is always in the present moment. It also means: how you respond to what happens is more important than what happens.
With love
Eckhart.

Expectation and the Moment

"When you drop your expectations that a person, a situation, a place, or
an object should fulfill you, it's easier to be present in this moment
because you're no longer looking to the next one. Most people want to
get what they want, whereas the secret is to want what you get at this
moment." Eckhart Tolle
